- Scope and ContentTranscript of a letter from William Cawne to James Lightboun “at his house in Red Lyon Square, London” I made a Distress on your tenant Samll Gurrey for one hundred and sixty pounds for rent due to you at Michas last and have gott a bond from Gurrey and one John Smith als Lyon of this place Butcher & farmer for the same Sum payable to you on the first day of March next. Smith is a man whose security is unquestionable, otherwise I should not have taken it without first consulting you. I will transmit the bond to you or keep it till I come to town, as you shall direct.
