    Conveyance i) Samuel Whitbread, Southill, esquire, M.P. ii) Charles James Conway Mills, formerly of Eaton Place, Middlesex, but now of Cardington, esquire iii) Joseph Shuttleworth whereas: by indenture of 4 September 1868 made between 1) Samuel Charles Whitbread 2) John Manning Needham and Thomas George Groves 3) John Stuart, Earl of Darnley, Honourable Henry Bouverie, William Brand and Abel Smith 4) Charles James Conway Mills and Frederick Manning Needham 1) conveyed to 4) all property devised by will of William Henry Whitbread, uncle of 1), to hold to use of 1) for life, with remainder to use of i), eldest son of 1), for life. Power given to 4), upon direction in writing of person entitled to the actual possession etc. to dispose of the property for such sums as 4) thought reasonable, with power to revoke old trusts and create new ones etc. : said Samuel Charles died on 27 May 1879 : said John Manning Needham died on 1 July 1874 : property comprised in said indenture of 4 September 1867 is free of all encumbrances except a mortgage of the ame for £9500 now, ii) at request of i) (being person for time being entitled to rents etc.) has agreed with iii) for sale to him of undermentioned property for £306, and i) has joined in this covenant to indemnify iii) against incumbrances in said mortgage - house and land situated in Old Warden near Sheerhatch Wood (1 acre 3 roods 16 perches) now in occupation of George Whitbread Baker N. Northill to Bedford road S. and W. formerly part of Warden glebe but recently purchased by iii) E. Sweetbriar Lane - 2 cottages and gardens situate in Sweetbriar Lane in Old Warden (1 rood 13 perches) now in occupation of George Whitbread Baker or his undertenants N.S. and W. late Warden glebe E. Sweetbriar Lane usual covenants signature ii) endorsed receipt witnesses Thomas G.Groves C.D.Eversley
