Scope and Content
The first annual report for the Standing Joint Committee was produced in 1964, as required by the Police Act of that year. Typical contents include: an analysis of establishment and strength of the regular force (by rank and sex), cadets and civilians; promotions and secondments (names give); recruitment and wastage statistics; retirements (names given); review of the work of various sections such as dogs and underwater search and recovery; police buildings and housing; police training.
