- Scope and Contenti) John Harvey, Ickwell Bury, esquire ii) Lady Madelina Fyshe Palmer, East Court, Berkshire, widow whereas: by release of 5 Oct 1842 between a) Charles Fyshe Palmer, esquire, since deceased b) said John Harvey c) William Anstell, esquire made pursuant to the statute for rendering a release as effectual for the conveyance of freehold estates as lease and release, in pursuant of the contract to purchase etc. - capital messuage or mansion house at S.E. corner of Ickwell Green etc. in occupation of Charles Fyshe Palmer and late of Mrs Hornsby (3 acres 1 rood 2 perches) - close adjoining called Home Close or Little Moat Close (2 acres 3 roods 4 perches) - another close adjoining called Great Moat Close (4 acres 1 rood 36 perches - tenement with garden, 2 cottages, small paddock and close (in all 2 acres 2 roods 6 perches) at E. side of Ickwell Green and then and late in occupation of Mrs Esnouff, George Course, Elizabeth Burnage and William Summerfield - enclosed piece of pasture ground called Harvey’s Close consisting partly of an ancient enclosure so called and partly of land alloted under the Northill enclosure Act with spring or grove at N.W. corner (6 acres 3 roods 22 perches) - Marsh corner lying between said last mentioned close and road leading from Northill to Biggleswade (5 acres 10 perches) - several closes called Marsh Field (11 acres 5 perches), Hedge Field (13 acres 3 roods 25 perches), Printings Close ( 20 acres 3 roods 39 perches), Beesoms (28 acres 3 roods 16 perches), Turnpike Close (31 acres 20 perches) and College Piece (19 acres 22 perches) all six being other part of lands alloted under Northill Enclosure Act to some or one of the predecessors in estate of Charles Fyshe Palmer - messuage with farm etc. adjoining (2 acres 3 roods 15 perches) on S. side of Caldecott Green - close of pasture called Covin’s Close with cottage at S. end thereof (6 acres 14 perches), which close lies between Caldecott Green and said road leading from Northill to Biggleswade all which said alloted lands and closes called Harvey’s Close, Marsh Corner and Covin’s Close formed one farm then in occupation of Griffin Cant, in Northill were in indenture in recital assured to use of such persons, upon such trusts etc. as said John Harvey should appoint in writing. In default to use of John Harvey for life with remainder to use of said William Anstell during life of John Harvey upon trust for him and his heirs with remainder to use of John Harvey : several deeds specified in schedule underwritten relate as well to the hereditaments comprised in hereinbefore recited indenture of 5 Oct 1842 as to other hereditaments in Bedfordshire of lesser value lately belonging to Charles Fyshe Palmer upon treaty for said purchase it was agreed that the said deeds etc. should be delivered to said John Harvey on completion of such a purchase and that he (John Harvey) should enter into a covenant for the production and giving copies of such deeds : Charles Fyshe Palmer died in Jan 1843 having made his will dated 4 Oct 1832 and thereby bequeathed the whole of his property to his wife, said Lady Madelina to dispose as she might think proper.
