    i) Lord Ongley ii) Sir Edmund Antrobus, The Strand, Middlesex, baronet Reverend Gilbert Elliott, St Peter, Newington, Surrey, clerk Peter Evan Turnbull, Baker Street, Portman Square, Middlesex, esquire John Elliott Drinkwater Bethune, The Temple, London, esquire whereas: i) is seized of and well-entitled to property hereinafter described in fee simple from encumbrances except a clear annual sum of £1200 charged thereon by SL 1/32 : i) has requested ii) to lend him £24,000 which they have agreed to do upon having repayment and interest (at 4%) secured to them in manner hereinafter mentioned now in consideration, i) has released to ii) - manors of Southill and Stanford otherwise Stamford Bury otherwise Stamford Berry - manor of Hill in Old Warden - capital messuage or mansion house wherein i) resides, in Old Warden - 2 closes arable in village of Warden in parish of Old Warden (2 acres) in occupation of i) - pieces of meadow ground called the Park, the Paddocks, the Cherry Orchard, the Bowling Piece and the Cherry Orchard or Blacksmith’s Close, in Old Warden, and in occupation of i). Total 173 acres - warren or wood ground in Old Warden and small part in Southill called the Warren (123 acres) but formerly said to contain 300 acres - summerhouse standing thereon late in occupation of i) - spinneys etc. containing 30 acres 3 roods 21 perches in Old Warden and Northill, now or late in occupation of i) - spinneys, woods etc. in Southill (23 acres 2 roods) now or late in occupation of i) - closes in Hill Meadow in Old Warden --- piece of meadow (11 acres 22 perches) formerly in occupation of Lawrence Gall and now of Thomas Aires --- other piece meadow (3 acres 3 roods 17 perches) formerly in occupation of Richard Richardson and late of Samuel Wells --- other piece meadow (5 acres) in occupation of John Graves --- other piece meadow (2 acres 2 roods 18 perches) late in occupation of John Willis, esquire, and now of William Mitchell --- other piece meadow (6 acres 3 roods) now in occupation of William Crouch --- other piece meadow (4 acres 2 roods 28 perches) late in occupation of Thomas Magrath and now of said William Crouch --- other piece meadow (9 acres 2 roods 27 perches) late in occupation of Thomas Perkins - great and small tithes payable to i) within Hill, Hill Meadow, said farm and lands in occupation of Prime Coleman and other lands of i) in Old Warden - 4 closes meadow in Biggleswade (4 acres) in occupation of said John Graves - other piece meadow (5 acres 2 roods) in Biggleswade near the Mills there in occupation of Henry Squires formerly part of Gore and Smith’sMeadow - pieces land late in occupation of Samuel Wells as tenant to i) lately containing (with homestall) 65 acres 11 perches but 8 acres (with homestall) have been sold off, lying in Broom and Southill - farmhouse in Broom in occupation of Samuel Neal and Sarah Sarl - pieces land belonging containing (together with homestall) 256 acres 14 perches in Broom and Southill also in occupation of Samuel Neal and Sarah Sarl - The Lodge divided into 3 in Southill in occupations of Margaret Simons, Elizabeth Nottingham and Thomas Elliman - cottages in Broom in occupation of George Dilley, George Green, Elizabeth Hawkins, John Head, William Rook, John Hills and John Field all of which premises etc. hereinbefore described are, with the exception of the manors more particularly mentioned in underwritten schedule and are called by the respective names and are in the respective occupations (except such parts as are in hand) at respective rents and contain respective quantities of land as mentioned in said schedule, together with all buildings and common rights etc. appertaining to said manors and lordship to use of ii) for ever subject to said rent charge of £1200 and said term of 200 years and subject to provisos for redemption i.e. mortgage of £24,000 with 4% interest to be paid half yearly on 28 Oct and 28 April. If property through default in payments by i) then money to be in trust to pay expenses of sale etc. and to repay to ii) said sum of £24,000 and interest and other costs. Residue to go to i). 27 and 28 Apr 1837 With schedule giving total quantity of land involved in Old Warden as 1414 acres 15 perches and in Southill as 598 acres 3 roods 30 perches.
