    i) Lord Ongley ii) John Barber, Broom, Southill, gentleman whereas i) has agreed to exchange under mentioned property with ii) in exchange for others secondly hereinafter described, ii) paying to i) £958 15s 6d by way of equality of exchange now i) exchanges with ii) - cottage in Broom called Flints Farm formerly in occupation of George Inskip - close pasture adjoining (6 acres 3 roods 19 perches) consisting of 2 old enclosures containing by estimation 3 acres but by admeasurement 2 acres 3 roods 19 perches formerly also in occupation of George Inskip and allotment or piece of new enclosed ground containing 4 acres - barns etc. W. and part N. Albones Close in occupation of ii) Remainder part N. and part E. ii) Remainder part E. Broom to Hill road S. Holme Mill to Southill road All which were formerly in occupation of John Barber, deceased, grandfather of ii) and now in occupation of Samuel Wells - cottage and close of pasture adjoining (1 acre 2 roods but now by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 12 perches) in Broom formerly in occupation of Thomas Cooper, afterwards of Cooper, his widow and now and for many years past of John Dilley S. Holme Mills to Southill road W. and S.W. ii) N. allotment next described E. Pear Pightle - land now used as orchard (2 roods 8 perches) in Broom, also in occupation of George Dilley N.W back road or lane through Broom E. ii) S. land lastly described and partly by land next described which several allotments were by the enclosure award of 11 Dec 1800 alloted to Lord Ongley, father of i), in lieu of common rights - Pear Pightle in Broom (1 acre 1 rood 33 perches N. orchard lastly described E. ii) S. Holme Mills to Southill road W. said close in occupation of George Dilley heretofore in occupation of Richard Taylor, afterwards of Mark Norman and now of John Taylor all which said cottages and closes were formerly estate of Sir Samuel Ongley, knight, one of ancestors of i) - all houses, outhouses, barns etc to ii) for his use in exchange with i) for undermentioned property discharged from a yearly rent charge of £1200 granted to Frances, Dowager Lady Ongley for her life by indenture of 30 Aug 1824 (SL 1/31) whereas: deeds relate not only to property herein before granted but also to other property of i) of greater value, it has been agreed that said deeds shall remain with i) Covenant for production of said title deeds ii) exchanges with i) - pasture in Broom (4 acres 1 rood 38 perches) S. ii) all other parts i) which said piece of land was formerly divided and used as one close of pasture and 2 groves and reputed to contain 4 acres. Said close being then occupied by one John Blewitt with a cottage and smith’s shop then standing and being in Broom but sometime since pulled down, and said 2 groves being in occupation of Henry Fyshe Palmer, esquire, deceased, to whom fee simple formerly belonged released from any sums bequeathed by will of said John Barber, deceased, chargeable upon said last mentioned hereditament and also an annuity of £200 given by will of John Barber, deceased, father of ii) to Elizabeth Barber, widow, mother of ii) for life and payable out of said last mentioned hereditaments (among others) ii) will put a good fence along westward side of said lands adjoining piece last described and will maintain it schedule of deeds Lease and Release of 30 and 31 Dec 1700 Lease and Release of 19 and 20 Jul 1723 Lease and Release of 8 and 9 Nov 1792 Will of 24 Mar 1802 Lease and Release of 19 and 20 Jul 1805 Indenture of 10 Jul 1824 Lease and Release of 10 Jul 1824 signed both witnesses Robert Lindsell George Austin 19 and 20 Feb 1828 Marked “ 29th Feb 1828.
