    - to sister Mrs. Elizabeth Woodward £100. - to Stephen Odell of Bedford & wife Martha £50 a piece or £100 to survivor, - to cousins John Bithrey of Carlton £5, - to cousins Knight Bithrey and his brother William Bithrey £5 a piece, - to William Steff of Carlton & wife Sarah £5 a piece, - to Mary wife of Thomas Jones of St. Albans £5, - to William Brown (nephew of wife) £20, - to John Bithrey of Stoke Mills (Bletsoe) & his brother Thomas Bithrey of London £5 a piece, - to William Bithrey of Snelson (Bucks.) £5, - to brother-in-law John Brown £5 & to his 3 sons Thomas, John. & William £5 a piece, - to servant Elizabeth Bishop £5. All legacies to be paid within 12 months of testator's death. - To poor of Dissenting Congregation of Carlton £5 distribribution at discretion of minister, - To poor of parishes of Carlton & Chellington, £5 at discretion of wife, - To mother-in-law Mrs. Mary Brown, £10 annuity payable quarterly out of estate at Carlton, (not payable during residence with wife), - To wife Frances for life, then sister Elizabeth Woodward, Then William Brown (wife's nephew), then 1/2 each to his wife Mary & to his children as tennants in common & their heirs. Mary Brown to take rents and profits of the moiety devised to William Brown's children and apply it to their maintenance and education until they are 21 or married. Once William and Mary are dead then their moiety to their children. -- Messuages , lands, etc. in Carlton, Chellington & Turvey. - To wife Frances, then sister Elizabeth Woodward, & niece Martha Odell equally. On Martha's death her share to her husband Stephen Odell then to heirs of the body of Martha, in default of issue to cousin John Bithrey, Knight & William Bithrey (all of Carlton) & John Bithrey of Stoke Mills, Thomas Bithrey of London & William Bithrey of Snelson, equally divided. -- Farm land in Cardington. "No timber or any other trees whatsoever standing or growing on any of my aforesaid estates shall be fell or cut down by any of the devises thereof for Life (except by my wife on my Carlton Estate for her firing only and for the necessary repairs of the same estates respectively). Lands in Ravensden and Keysoe to wife Frances Bithrey her heirs and assigns. Leasehold estate in Bedford, goods, chattels and personal estate to wife Frances from which to pay all debts and funeral expences and legacies. Wife, Frances - sole extx. Witnesses. B. Watkins, Rich.
