Scope and Content
Deed of co-partnership
i) Horatio Frederick Braganza Field, late of Belvidere, Cambridge Road, Bethnal Green, Middlesex
ii) Octavius Adolphus Field, late of Bayswater Terrace, Paddington
i) has stocked a shop in the King’s Place, Commercial Road, St George in the East, for carrying on the business of a chemist and druggist at a cost of £337 1s 2d
i) has agreed to admit ii) as a co-partner without any immediate advance of cash but he is to raise and bring into the concern £168 10s 7d in manner hereafter mentioned, devoting his whole time to the business and bearing an equal share of the expenses
NOW
i) admits ii) into such partnership
partnership to last for 14 years from 27 September 1832 to be carried on under the name of Octavius Adolphus Field unless i) wishes it altered in which case it will be called Horatio Frederick Braganza Field and Octavius Adolphus Field and carried on at no. 7 King’s Place
It will not be necessary for i) to relinquish his situation with the London Dock Company but he will devote his remaining time to said shop
i) occupies said house at 7, King’s Place, as his dwelling house and will continue to do so and have £35 per annum deducted from his share of the profits
i) shall be at liberty to draw from the profits £40 per annum at a rate of £10 per quarter for board and lodgings of ii), two of which parts to be drawn after 25 March next
after 5 years i) may be at liberty to withdraw said £337 1s 2d
after half yearly account ii) may be at liberty to withdraw £15 towards his private expenses
any excess over this amount shall remain in the book, with 5% per annum interest until whole of sum of £168 10s 7d has been raised, then ii) may withdraw each half year, his full half of the profit
i) is entitled to interest of 5% per annum on the full sum of £337 1s 2d until the share of ii) has been paid off

NOW
i) and ii) agree that from the date of this deed the partnership shall cease and be void
each of them releases and quitclaims the other against any demands which may be made concerning the partnership
it is agreed that this deed shall be deposited for safe custody with Mr John Field of Great Prescott Street in the parish of Whitechapel
