Parties:
(i) George Peregrine Nash of Bedford, common brewer;
(ii) Francis, Duke of Bedford
Reciting:
- (VII) in R6/42/1/27;
- Peregrine Nash died on 28 November 1834;
- Phoebe Nash died on 26 January 1837;
- (ii) had agreed to purchase (a)-(c);
- after the agreement it was agreed that (i) should indemnify (ii) against payment of the annuity to Mary Nash
Operative Part:
- (i) released (a)-(c) to (ii) for £800
Property:
(a) a piece of land in Duck End, Oakley on which the public house formerly known as the Red Lion, then known as the Bedford Arms, formerly in the occupation of Grace Ekins, then of William Foster, the of Ann Wood, widow formerly stood but had recently been pulled down and removed;
(b) a close of one and a half acres of pasture adjoining (a);
(c) land of 3 acres, 3 roods, 8 poles in Church Field, Oakley bounded: E by an allotment to the Duke of Bedford; part S by an allotment to Susanna, wife of Joseph Hornsby; part W by Bedford Road; part N, W and S by the homestead belonging to (a) and by (b); part W by the Town Street of Oakley and part N by ancient inclosures of the Duke of Bedford. This land was allotted to Peregrine Nash on the inclosure of Oakley.
Covenant by (i) to pay the £250 annuity to Mary Nash and indemnify (ii) against any claim on (ii) from Mary Nash
