Lands described in indenture 3 June 1702: -- Manor house and appurtenance called Brach, Luton, Sumeriss Farm and lands in Stopsley late purchased of Francis Crawley Esquire, coppice in Luton above Spring close, 3 cottages, parish of Luton, called ‘Why ask you’ with close, cottage and close called ‘Tittle tattle hall’, Luton St. John’s meadows, Brach Mill, Luton. to Archibald Napier, remainders to Theophilus in tail, Edward in tail. Annuity to widow of Archibald for life. Lands described in release 18 April 1707: -- Copthall manor house and 340 acres in the occupation of William Benham New Mill-End Farm, Luton, in the occupation of William Walton, messuage and 150 acres New Mill-end in the occupation of Elisha Hill, messuage East Hyde and 20 acres in the occupation of John Sibley, tenement in the occupation of Richard Bishop, woods in East Hyde in the occupation of John Weaver. to Edward, remainders to Theophilus and Archibald Napier in tail. Residue to trustees - Francis Neale, Esquire, George Buckby, gentleman, Thomas Denton, gentleman, Sir George Warburton, Baronet, John Coppin esquire, Francis Brace gentleman to pay debts.
