- TitleDeposition of John Dennis of Bow Brickhill, shepherd, 66;
- Date free text13 June 1716
- Production dateFrom: 1716 To: 1716
- Scope and ContentOn Sunday 28 February about 2 years ago a messenger came from one Blews of Little Brickhill to fetch him to speak to Bolton at Blews, but he would not go. A little later Bolton came to his house on horseback, but he 'stepped out of the way', & his daughter Mary said he was at the Leather Bottle in Bow Brickhill. When deponent came in, he & daughter Mary (who has had one or two bastards & is excommunicated) went to inn, & daughter Hannah followed later. (Somewhat improbable story of drinking bout.) Deponent was a witness in an Assize case about 2 years ago between Godfrey & Bolton about tithes.
