‘Payne’s Breviat’: legal notes for brief.
-- Bredyman in 1583/4 conveyed the Manor of Podington to Southwell who in 1584/5 sold it to Payne, and in 1591/2 they levied a fine to extinguish Bredyman’s wife’s dower and the interest of Charles Bredyman.

Upon evidence given the jury found for Payne against Fawne’s title by reason that the later fine was confirmation of the former sale.
One of Smith’s statutes is extended and a scire facias against Payne by the terre tenants to fetch in Paynes land to be extended.
