Letter from Evelyn Chaldecott, sent from ‘Selwood’ Kasauli, [continuation of Z186/169] Pities Dorothy having to do menial work in hospital - this is not necessary in India. Describes cataract operation at which she assisted “he only had cocaine in the eye and not quite enough and he rolled it about and groaned, it was rather horrid”. Discusses Gilbert’s education and his former Governess, Miss Woods. Glad there is a lull in the war now.
