  • Scope and Content
Roorkee is a plains station but quite near the hills. View from sitting room is marvellous, “the plains stretch away to the horizons about 100 miles and in the evenings when the rivers catch the light it is wonderful, they show up like silver in misty blue, or when the sun is low like gold threads in a sort of pink and purple mist”. Has made friends with a Mrs. Oswald, Price of shopping in Kasauli, Simla and Calcutta. Discusses Heather’s daily food. [ continued in Z186/170]
