- Scope and ContentManor of Leighton otherwise Grovebury Absolute Surrender by Robert Bryan of Heath and Reach, gentleman and Catherine, his wife for £1,200 to Wyndham Edward Hanmer of Ampthill, esquire, before William Allen, deputy steward out of court, of: (a) cottage at a place called Copt Hill, Heath and Reach lately erected by Robert Bryan and in the occupation of Robert Bryan; (b) plot of land of 8 acres, 2 roods, 9 poles awarded at the inclosure of Leighton Buzzard in 1848 to Robert Bryan in lieu of two plots of land comprising respectively 21 acres, 2 roods, 12 poles and 80 acres, 18 poles in Heath and Reach including the rights of common belonging to an ancient cottage in the occupation of John Grant Lawford and comprising the sites of cottages which were surrendered to him in 1837 by Samuel Edward Coock, Charles Coock and others; and other lands surrendered to Robert Bryan by John Daniel and others in 1838; (c) plot of land of 4 acres, 2 roods, 38 poles to which Robert Bryan was admitted on surrender of Thomas Sayell in 1848; (d) plot of land of 1 roods, 22 poles to which Robert Bryan was admitted on surrender of Joseph Sayell in 1848 (b)-(d) now formed one inclosure of 13 acres, 2 roods, 29 poles in the occupation of Robert Bryan bounded: N and W by old inclosures and new inclosures of the Dean and Canons of Windsor and Henry Hanmer their lessee; E by newly inclosed land of John Mortimer, Thomas Swinstead and William Manning; S by Linslade Road.
