- Scope and ContentAbstract of title of Richard Halfhead and Richard Smith to premises in Stevington Relating to the cottage near the Cross and 1 acre, 2 roods, 22 poles (I) out of court surrender by Richard Page on 29 December 1766 of several copyhold cottages, loses, sward, meadow and ley to the use of his will (II) Office copy will of Richard Page of 30 August 1777 devising all his real estate to his wife Lydia, remainder to their son Thomas subject to payment of £80 each to Richard Page’s two daughters Sarah and Martha (III) presentment of 21 and 22 October 1790 of the death of Lydia Page who held a cottage by the cross in Church End under the will of Richard Page and a piece of arable in Parriens at a yearly rent from the manor of 9½ d. and three acres at a yearly rent from the manor of 1/- and three acres of arable and sweard in New Field, with lane late of Sir Thomas Alston, then the Lord of the Manor N, land of Mr. Andrews NW and common highway S formerly in the occupation of William Tysome at a yearly rent of ½d. Further presentment that Thomas Page of Stevington, blacksmith was only son and heir of Richard Page and admission of Thomas Page to the properties (IV) WL1000/1/Stev/2/2 (V) Will of Thomas Page of 6 September 1814 bequeathing his household goods to his wife Mary and devising to John Perry and William Pool all his real estate in trust, lending Mary up to £50 from the proceeds, investing the rest and paying the interest to Mary for her life as long as she remained a widow, after he death or remarriage the residue of the estate to be divided amongst their children with the proviso that, with his wife’s agreement, money could be laid out in apprenticing or otherwise advancing any of the children (VI) Bargain and Sale of 23 November 1819 by (1) John Perry and William Pool to (2) Margaret Pool for £688 of a cottage near the cross formerly in the occupation of Mrs. Page, then untenanted and 1 acre, 2 roods, 22 poles, being the sixth allotment to Thomas Page in the Inclosure Award of 1807 (VII) Will of Margaret Pool of 27 February 1820 bequeathing £500 to her daughter Sophia, £700 to her son Thomas and £500 to her son Richard and devising all her real estate to her son William subject to the bequest of £500 to Sophia from her late father Richard and bequeathing the residue of her personal estate to be divided between her sons Thomas and William whom she made her executors – proved in the Archdeaconry Court of Bedford on 3 September 1822 (VIII) WL1000/1/Stev/2/5 (IX) WL1000/1/Stev/2/7 (X) Conditional surrender by William Pool to William Halfhead the elder of Bedford of (a)-(u) in WL1000/1/Stev/2/5 as security for a loan of £1,000 on 7 November 1824 (XI) Deed of covenant of 7 November 1824 further securing William Halfhead’s loan of £1,000 to William Pool (XII) Further advance of 25 June 1831 of £350 by William Halfhead to William Pool Relating to a cottage near the cross and 13 poles (XIII) WL1000/1/Stev/2/3 (XIV) WL1000/1/Stev/2/4 (XV) WL1000/1/Stev/2/6 Relating to both cottages near the cross (XVI) WL1000/1/Stev/2/8, the properties being (k) and (n) (XVII) WL1000/1/Stev/2/9 (XVIII) WL1000/1/Stev/2/10 (XIX) WL1000/1/Stev/2/11 (XX) WL1000/1/Stev/2/12 (XXI)WL1000/1/Stev/2/13 (XXII) WL1000/1/Stev/2/16
