Scope and Content
Declaration of Timothy Keech of Stevington, carrier, aged 63:
- he knew Richard Page of Stevington, blacksmith, deceased having lived with him for some years;
- Richard Page possessed a cottage with a garden at the back in Church Street formerly in the occupation of Richard Smart, then William Aspley, then Thomas Simpson, now William Barton;
- on Richard Page’s death and that of Lydia, his wife, the cottage passed to their eldest son Thomas who held it until his death;
- he had attended Stevington Manor Court as one of the homage and was now crier and declared that the cottage has always been considered copyhold of the manor
