Attested copy Lease and Release and Assignment Parties: (i) Thomas Barton of Bedford, butcher; (ii) Richard Halfhead of Bedford, coal merchant; Richard Smith of Bedford, butcher; creditors and trustees on behalf of the other creditors of (i) Reciting: - (i) was seized of (a)-(b); - (i) was indebted to people described in a schedule not included in the copy as well as to (ii) Operative Part: - (ii) paid 10/- to (i); - (i) released (a) to (ii) Property: (a) messuage and butcher’s shop and slaughterhouse adjoining, with yard and buildings at the back in Saint Paul’s, Bedford, in the occupation of (i) and Hurst bounded E by White Horse Street (now Harpur Street), with a frontage of 60 feet; NW by property of Edward Mann with a frontage of 50 feet; SW by other property of (i) with a frontage of 65 feet; (b) newly erected messuage divided into two tenements in the occupation of George Osborne and Benjamin Houghton and a plot of garden ground on the W side of White Horse Street adjoining (a) with a frontage of 65 feet, with a north-south frontage of 22 feet, adjoining S of ground of Attack and W on ground of William Danes Habendum: - to (ii) upon trusts for receiving rents and for sale Operative Part: - (i) covenanted to surrender (c)-(d) to (ii) Property: (c) messuage opposite Stevington Cross with garden, orchard or sward adjoining of 2½ acres formerly in the occupation of Samuel Risely, then Thomas Barton, now Alexander Field bounded by the village street called Church Street SE, the road from Stevington to Harrold SW. property of Robert Bowyer, Jeremiah Sansom and George Hudson NW and property of Thomas Bunting, Cox, Richard Eaton and (b) on NE; (d) messuage with blacksmith’s shop attached in Church Street adjoining (a) with a large piece of garden adjoining and formerly in the occupation of William Aspley and Richard Eaton, now Thomas Simpson and Alexander Field Habendum: - to (ii) upon trusts for receiving rents and for sale Operative Part: - (i) released his stock in trade, books, debts,, bonds and personal estate to (ii) Habendum: - to (ii) upon trusts for carrying on the business and for sale
