    Conveyance Parties: (i) George Tomalin of 349 Holloway Road, London [Middlesex], gentleman; Henry Gates of Luton, grocer; (ii) Thomas Sworder of Luton, brewer Reciting: - will of Thomas Tomalin of 27 April 1867 appointing (i) as his executors and trustees and devising thirteen cottages and a public house in Hitchin Road, Luton to his wife Kitty for her life, with reversion to (i) in trust for sale; - Death to Thomas Tomalin on 1 May 1867 and proof of his will in Northampton DPR on 7 June 1867; - Death of Kitty Tomalin on 10 January 1880; - (i) contracted to sell (a) and (b) to (ii) for £600 Operative Part: - (i) conveyed (a) to (ii) for £600 Property: (a) public house with yard, stable and outbuildings called The Harrow, formerly The New Inn at the corner of Hitchin Road and Cobden Street, Luton in the occupation of (ii)’s under tenant and bounded SE by Hitchin Road with a frontage of 38 feet and on NE by Cobden Street with a frontage of 25 feet; NW by (b) and the Iron Foundry of McLaren and Walker and SW by cottages of Frederick Simpkins; (b) cottage with gateway entrance, yard, stable and outbuildings called 1 Cobden Street adjoining (a), bounded NE by Cobden Street, with a frontage of 45 feet, NW by the Iron Foundry, SW and SE by (a) Witnesses: - Henry B. Scard, clerk to Richard Cooke of Luton, solicitor; - John Gates, articled clerk to Richard Cooke of Luton, solicitor; - Richard Cooke of Luton, solicitor Attached is a piece of paper reading: The attached Deed was damaged by Water, our Strong Room having been flooded as a result of Enemy Action on the night of Sunday, 29th December, 1940 – Lawrance, Messer & Co., 16 Coleman Street, London EC2. NOTE – The Deed Boxes reached by Water in the Strong Room were removed as soon as possible and the Deeds affected, including this Deed were opened out and dried by Electric fan Damage appears minimal.
