- Scope and Content(i) to cause the feofees and all persons seized of or in the Manor of Hoo, before 21 December next, to make a sure and sufficient estate in law of the manor to (ii), John Sturgeon, John Hervy, John Felde esquires, Roger Tounsende, & Laurence Test gents, and John Smyth, chaplain, to hold to them and to the heirs of (ii) and John Smyth for ever. (i) to deliver to John Smyth all deeds etc. relating to the manor, to the intent that if (i) pays (ii) at Christmas 1473, £280, then (ii) and the others will stand feofees to use of (i), in default, the manor to remain with them and they will stand feofees to use of (ii). John Smyth is to deliver the deeds etc. relating to the manor to (ii) who will then pay (i) £120. (i) and (ii) both bind themselves in sum of £1,000 for performance of covenants.
