(i) Briggins How of Woburn, shopkeeper and wife Sarah (ii) Richard How of Aspley Guise, gentleman and wife Silena (iii) Daniel Zachary of Cannon Street London gentleman, John Eliot of Bartholomew Street, London gentleman recites: will of Mariabella Briggins of Bartholomew Close, widow dated 4 October 1755, proved at Prerogative Court of Canterbury; bequeathed to grand-son Briggins How £1,800 which executors were to place out at interest which was to be paid to him; appointed her brother John Eliot and the said Daniel Zachary executors. They purchased £2,000 3% annuity. whereas: John Eliot is since deceased recites: Enclosure Act and Award – allotments to Richard How senior in lieu of lands held in trust for him under V385 (lands are (a) – (e) in V388) also allotted (in recompense for 2 closes pasture allotted to the rector of Aspley Guise) -- parcel of arable, Roaster Lane Field, with 2 acres meadow in Crabtree Furlong containing together 43 acres 1 rood 5 perches -- (f) and (g) in V388 recites: V386 whereas: said Richard How and Briggins How have refused to accept the devises on the conditions stipulated; freehold reversion thereof is descended on Richard How as eldest son and heir. recites: V388 whereas: said Briggins How has since agreed with Richard How for the purchase of Rositer Lane Field 41 acres for £675.9s.0d; said Briggins How having occasion for £1,800 has requested Daniel Zachary and John Eliot to invest the sum of £1,800 on security of the premises hereinafter conveyed now: consideration: £675.9s.0d. -- Roaster or Rositer Lane Field 41 acres 1 rood 5 perches in Aspley Guise :south and east Crabtree Furlong and Aspley Road :west and north Wavendon Field and Roaster Lane Richard How to levy fine further: consideration: £1,124.11s.0d. (the remainder of the £1,800) -- (b) in V388 (first abuttal here given as north and southeast part of common hills . . .) -- (c), (d), (f), (g), (h), (i) as in V388 -- messuage in the occupation of Samuel Wooding repayment £1,800 on 14 March 1765.
