[see NC865 for this property in 1684.] (i) Richard How senior of Aspley Guise, gentleman (ii) Richard How junior of Aspley Guise, gentleman (iii) Briggins How of Aspley Guise, gentleman eldest son of Richard How senior (iv) Sarah Walduck of Bexfields in Chelmsford, Essex, spinster (v) William Joyce of Bexfields in Chelmsford, Essex, gentleman recites: V353 whereas: there was later built on the said parcel of sweard ground a messuage with stables and other buildings now standing thereon in the occupation of Ralph French, known as the Thatch’d Inn ground and messuage are vested in Richard How senior for remainder of term of years Richard How junior has contracted with Richard How senior for purchase of ground and messuage for £300 and for purchase of the messuages, mills etc. hereinafter mentioned for a further £300 marriage intended between Briggins How and Sarah Walduck now: consideration £300 paid to Richard How senior by Briggins How, Richard How senior releases to Richard How junior and William Joyce -- Windmill in the occupation of John Wilbee and parcel of ground wherein the same stands, 5 acres, known as the Windmill Piece, in Aspley Guise in the occupation of said Richard How senior -- 2 watermills in said parish also in the occupation of John Wilbee -- ground, soil, water and brook called Fullbrooke, Stepingdonbrooke and Radwell Pitt with appurtenances. -- ground, waste and marsh ground called Fulbrooke, Fullbrooke Hassocks and Fulbrooke Leis lying on both sides and about the head of the said Fullbrooke -- messuage also in the occupation of said John Wilbee called the Millers House with appurtenances in Aspley Guise adjoining the said water mills west -- ½ acre arable whereon a messuage formerly stood, since pulled down, in Aspley Guise, at a place called Fullbrooke upon Hatch Leys :south Glebe :north land formerly of Edmund Hardinge :east Mill Pond further: consideration: £50 paid to Richard How junior by Briggins How, Richard How junior at request of Briggins How releases to William Joyce -- close formerly ley or sweard now arable 4½ acres in the occupation of said Richard How senior in Aspley Guise, next to a place called Fillbrooke :east Mill Pond :west common highway :north parcel of sweard ground hereinafter mentioned :south Fullbrooke to uses. . . . further: consideration: £3000 paid to Richard How senior by Briggins How Richard How senior transfers to Richard How junior and William Joyce -- said parcel of sweard ground and common pasture for two bullocks upon the Hill Commons of Aspley Guise, demised by aforesaid recited Indenture -- messuage and stables built upon last mentioned sweard ground as aforesaid to hold for remainder of term on trusts . . . .
