Scope and Content
The house, however, is expensive to keep. In 1796, 1798 and 1799 repairs cost £1,568 and since another £800, the taxes and insurance on it was £208 per annum. The servants wages and board cost £90 and coal at least £66. The Gables in London are let to Lord Liverpool for £52. 10s. a year.
