  • Date free text
    1902-1913
  • Production date
    From: 1768 To: 1913
  • Scope and Content
detailed account of work done for clients in and around Ampthill NOTE: These accounts were kept in the latter part of a volume in which 18th century accounts (1768-1772) had been kept. The 18th century accounts give many names and places; mainly Liverpool; also Jamaica, Alexandria, Barbados etc. but the entries are brief and give little indication of the business (e. g. "To cash" and "By stock"). It is not known how this volume came into the possession of the King family. By permission of the depositor the volume was divided, and the 18th century section sent to the County Record Office, Preston, Lancashire, where it was identified as that of the firm of George Campbell, merchants and sugar bakers, Duke Street, Liverpool.
