    ‘Having for many years since disposed of mine Eternal Estate and for many years have had well grounded hopes of my interest in Jesus Christ......... I do give my dear wife and children unto God who gave them to me, earnestly entreating him to give them all his sanctifying and saving grace...... Lord, make them rather gratious than rich or great in the world let mine and their ways be such that we may all meet at the right hand of Christ’ ‘And as for that temporal estate that God in mercy hath given me which is plentiful because sufficient and the Lord hath given me contentedness with it’.... -- to wife Mary all estate in Wilby, Dodington, Northamptonshire, and lands and houses purchased of Mr. John Alston, in Hinwick. (OR215) for life -- after decease of wife, estate in Hinwick to grandchild Andrew Kempe. -- ½ yard land in Wilby purchased Valentine Cave to grandchild Dorothy Kempe. -- meadow purchased Mr. Muskett to grandchild Bertha Kempe -- barns, close and garden, wife may sell, proceeds after her death to grandchild Robert Kempe. -- to brother John. ‘if he come over out of Ireland’ £10 -- bequests for mourning to sister Katherine Bowtell, Mrs. Elizabeth Bussey, Miss Ann Hervey, son and daughter Kempe, Martha Hackney, wife of John Hackney, Wilby. -- to wife £100 and residue of personal goods for life after her death to be divided equally among grandchildren.
