- TitleLetter from Stephen Luxford written at St Neots to Arnold Spencer, with copy of a certificate signed by 11 justices for Bedfordshire, and addressed to the Bishop of Lincoln, Lord St John and Lord Mandaville. The certificate states that the sluices between St Ives and St Neots tend to the general good of the inhabitants of Bedfordshire and a great part of Buckinghamshire for trade in coal and salt, as long as the trade is general, and the toll reasonable; but that Jackson who 'hath sum present interest' in the sluices refuses passage. Luxford states also that the grand jury have presented Jackson for engrossing coal and salt, for bad wares and for smallness of measure.
