To nephew George Vaughan real estate in St. Neots, and £1,000. To niece Sarah Vaughan £500. To Mary and Clementine Lewis daughters of Thomas Lewis, doctor of physic, lately deceased, £300 each. To John Cotton of Stratton Hall, Bedfordshire, esquire, Thomas Hart of Warfield, Berkshire esquire and Thomas Bowdler of Roxton, esquire, remainder of real estate in Bedfordshire, Huntingdonshire and Norfolk, in trust to pay debts, legacies etc; then to John Cotton for life; then to John Hart son and heir of Thomas Hart and wife Jane daughter of John Cotton; if default of heirs to John Bowdler son of Thomas and wife Elizabeth, daughter of John Cotton; if default of heirs to Frances Cotton daughter of John, or Mary Cotton; whoever has the property is to take the surname Cotton. Furniture in dwelling house at St. Neots is to stay there. To servants ¼ year’s wages. To Elizabeth wife of William Shiers, £10 per annum. Remainder to John Cotton esquire executor.
