    It is difficult to be sure of the correct order of these documents, but the following outline is provisionally suggested. From 1621 Edmund's behaviour caused anxiety, and in 1628 he was declared a lunatic and his estate entrusted to his brothers for management. Possibly however his mind was only upset for a time, for in 1633 further efforts on his behalf resulted in Lord St John being called in. Around 1634 Edmund married a daughter of Sir Robert Charnock, and had one daughter, Elizabeth. He died in 1639. The final chancery decree was in 1657.
