  • Scope and Content
Dear Mr Janes, Thanks for your letter of the 23rd inst. I gave today the Societe de Banque Suisse (Swiss Bank Coporation), Laussanne, instructions in respect of the transfer to Rome. I understand from the bank, that the transfer is being effected "hors clearing" and that there will be available in Rome either USA $150.- or the equivalent in Lire, amounting to as least 90'000.-Lire. In the first case the Dollars will be exchangeable without any difficulty. The bank says that a letter of authority is not required, the transfer being "addressed" to you c/o Hotel Flora per Banca Commerciale Italiana. - In case you do not find at the Hotel an advice from the Banca Commericale I would suggest that you address yourself to the bank. I trust all will be settled to your satisfaction, and I shall be glad to hear from you accordingly. My wife joins me in sending both to yourself and Mrs Janes best wishes for a pleasant holiday and kind regards. Yours sincerely, M H Trachsler.
