  • Scope and Content
Dear Mr Janes, I'm acknowledging your kind letter and generous gift of Ten Pounds. I would like to assure you I was truly overcome with same and desire to express our very deep sense of appreciation for this act of generosity. You said in your letter that you carry with you happy memories of your stay in Jamaica. It is fair and honest when I say you have made a very great impresssion on us and your unaffected humility gave us a [undreadable word] that you are a gentleman possessing many great qualities and seasoned experiences. I am sure you will be pleased to hear that our Annual Union Meeting came off successful. Reverend Mr Tucker is now Chairman and we are praying for a year of great progress under his Chairmanship. Again thanking you and assuring your that we shall always treasure the memory of your visit and especially that informative address you gave at the Church at Port Antonio. With very kind regards to Mrs Janes and self also Mr and Mrs Nutt in which my wife joins. Yours sincerely Fergus Lewis
