- Scope and ContentDear Mr Janes, I was glad to hear from you once again and to know that you and Mrs Janes are still having a lovely holiday. Since I last wrote to you two letters have come for you from Austrailia. I am not sending these on to you but will leave them for you to deal with when you return The first one came from Miss Book and deals with matters relating to the late Miss Merritts - she has sent various papers to show that the matter is now completed. The other letter was from a Mr Leeson, whom you met when you visited Austrailia. He has written to tell you that his daughter has come to England to gain extra experience - she is a teacher of Domestic Science - and he wondered if you would contact her while she is in this country. I have acknowleged both these letters, saying that you are away at present but will attend to them when you return home. I have received a letter this week from the Reverend Morton. He says he has had no news of you since you left England and wants to know when you will be returning. I have written to him and given him a little information about your visits to various places. The Income Tax people have sent various notices about your tax and Mary's. Mr Frary has taken the matter up with them and asked them to defer until your return. Today I have received from Green Hills the post, and included are the Rate Estimates from the Town Hall. The papers which have accumlated for you during the past 2 months will I am sure keep you busy for some time when you return. I note from your letter that your next place of call is the Bahamas and from there to Miami, so that when you receive this letter you will have started on your homeward journey. There is nothing more to report at the moment but I would like to wish you and Mrs Janes a safe and happy journey home. With kindest regards. Yours sincerely, Joan Smith.
