- Scope and Content“…I have no doubt you have seen by the news paper that the Gt Duke has left Tuscany & we have now a provisional government. There is again a talk of war & if so it will soon begin. We have (I hear) great many English man war (sic) about our coast, & Sir W Parker is the admiral…I should very much like to see the improvements of H[olland] House…I am going on as usually yet no prospect of any family, nevertheless we are very happy & I must say better wife I could not meet with…”
