    To Mrs Sarah Colenutt
  • Scope and Content
To Mrs R Colenutt Admiralty My Dear Friend, Willie has come back to England but has gone to Marlborough. We have not seen him yet, but we have sent your note to him. Of course I cannot say whether I am glad or sorry about Rick, because I don’t know the lady. Is it the one about whom you spoke to me? However I can say this, that if you are glad I am so too and if you congratulate Rick, please add my congratulations also. I do not see any prospect of going to Ryde for a long while to come. I am very busy and have been very miserable; the bitter cold and above all the constant darkness day after day having depressed me considerably. At least I suppose they were the cause. The children are quite well and enjoyed themselves greatly at the wedding or ratehr afterwards. It took place near Blandford. Molly turns up her hair now and is a woman. Best love to yourself, your husband and the children Affectionately yours, W Hale White 17 Jan 1887
