Scope and Content
A cottage and 2 acres 1 1/2 rods arable and pasture belonging thereto in Prigdole furlong, Thorncoate, late purchased of William Miseldine, and 19 acres arable leys and sward in fields of Thorncot, Beeston and Hatch, Northill, late Alice Carter's (grand mother of legatee) to his son John and lawful heirs of his body; 20 acres arable leys and meadow and all the rest of the land purchased by his grand father Carter in fields of Thorncoate, Beeston and Hatch in Northill and Sandy, belonging to the house he lived in and being no part of his first wife's jointure, to his son William and his heirs on condition that they pay to his son Richard £20 one year after his decease and to his daughter Ann Pettitt £20 within one month after decease of her husband John Pettitt; in default of such sums of £20 the said 20 acres arable leys and meadow etc to go to Richard and Ann. To his son Thomas: All his lands etc held of the Manor of Blunham; To his daughter Dorcas: £100 within 12 months of his decease; To his daughter Susanna: £50 similarly. The rest of all his goods and chattels to his sons John and Thomas equally after payment of debts and legacies, the share of either dying before it falls to him to go to the survivor. Executors: sons William and Richard Witnesses: Richard Lee, George Nodes, Matthew Lee.
