    17 October 1712. Will of Luke Hodges, merchant. Devised all freehold and copyhold messuages and lands in Wicken and Newport:- to cousin Ralph Howland for life, charged with annuities to Mary Temple and her daughter Frances; to sons of Ralph Howland in tail male; to John Orlebar , son of cousin Elizabeth Orlebar, and his heirs male; to the second and other sons of Elizabeth Orlebar. Witnesses. William Wyatt, Job Hunt, Christopher Dowbiggin. 15 November 1714. Codicil correcting mistake: for daughter Frances read son Francis. 28 January 1733/(4?), Francis Skynner conveys annuity to John Skynner of the Poultry, gentleman, in trust for John Orlebar. 19, 20 October 1733, Deed to lead uses of recovery. (i) John Orlebar of Hinwick. (ii) John Skynner (iii) Joseph Andrews. Michaelmas Term 1733. Exemplification of recovery. Hilary Term 1734. Fine. 10 June 1736. Deed to declare uses of fine. 24 March 1737/8. Assignment intrust to attend the inheritance: (i) Charles Fletcher of Clophill, clerk. (ii) John Orlebar. (iii) Governors of Queen Anne’s bounty. (iv) Thomas Rowe, vicar of Newport. (v) Wentworth Bradbury, rector of Wicken Bonant. -- Lands in Newport, farmhouse in Wicken Bonant, cottage in Wicken Bonant, such part of closes and parcels as are in Wicken Bonant; To Wentworth Bradbury in trust for Thomas Rowe and successors. [Recites 6 September 1734]: Mortgage for £1000 – lands in Wicken and Newport, messuage in Wicken Bonant, cottage in Wicken Bonant, 150 acres in Wicken Bonant and Newport; also recites that John Orlebar, with consent of Charles Fletcher, conveyed the lands in Newport for a perpetual endowment of Newport vicarage (Charles Fletcher accepting instead security in lands in Hinwick). 18 December 1739. Marriage settlement of John Orlebar does not mention Essex. 27 October 1741. Will of John Orlebar: freehold and copyhold lands in Wicken Bonant to trustees to be sold as required, and surplus invested in estate in Bedfordshire. 7, 8 August 1778. Reconveyance to uses of will of John Orlebar (i) William Burton (ii) William Myddleton (iii) Richard Orlebar. -- Freehold messuages, rectories and lands late of John Orlebar in Podington and Wicken Bonant; to hold to William Myddleton in trust for Richard Orlebar.
