    Thomas Ayer the elder of Beeston, yeoman. To his eldest son Thomas and lawful heirs of his body: All his messuages and lands etc.in Thorncot/Thorncote; failing such issue, to be divided equally among his other sons John, Robert and his youngest son Thomas. Likewise all his lands meadows and pasture in Upper and Lower Caldecote. To his son Thomas the elder and lawful heirs of his body: 2 messuages in the High Street, St Neot's, Hunt, one occupancy John Olliver, the other late tenancy John Lassell. To his son John and lawful heirs of his body : All his messuages and lands etc.in Beeston; failing such issue,to the next heirs of the Devisor, paying therefore £60 to person appointed by him. To his son Robert: A messuage in St.Neot's where William Hawker dwells and 11 acres land in Yelling, Hunts. in occupancy John and William Dosseter. To his youngest son Thomas a messuage in St.Neot,s where Robert Hewitt the younger dwells and £220. To his wife Alice £5 a year for life,to be paid by his sons. Also his little parlour in the house where he now dwells,with the furniture now in it, 'the which is next the orchard there.' Also 3 loads of wood every year,to be laid in some convenient room by his sons. Her linen as often as necessary to be washed for her yearly at the cost of his sons. Monetary bequests to the following: To his daughter's daughters. Alice, Annys,Joan,and Susan. Oliver; his brother-in law Skeelesand his children;his daughter Florence Samwell;John Brown of Bedford,Alice Gray,Isabella Austin,Margaret Collision, Alice and John Turner,Mary Maynard;and to the poor of the parish of Beeston. To his son Robert .£150 to be paid in 3 years at times specified. To his son Thomas Ayer the elder:the remaining terms in all his houses,lands etc.in Thorncot/Thorncote. Executors his son John. Witnesses John Dickby, John Everard, Robert Yeoman, William Flint, Richard Brown.
