    Probate [copy] of the will of William Foster of Bedford, esquire [i.e. the son of Dr Foster]: 'I commend my soul into the hands of ... God, hoping etc'. To wife Barbara for life, and then to father William Foster: Great Barford parsonage, with glebe lands and tithes, leased from Trinity College; a capital messuage in Bedford called the Hassetts wherein testator dwells; a cottage at the south end of Chappell close, in occupation of Henry Crann; 1 acre garden at the other end in occupation of Cicely Smith, widow. To father William Foster, education of children; goods in Bedford, Barford, and chamber in the Middle Temple, London, belonging to father; and also all plate except the plate, pearl rings and jewels his wife brought in marriage; she is to keep the latter for life unless she marries again, in which case they go to daughter Barbara.
