"Hazeldene", Fortesque Road, Paignton. Dear Herbert, The time is passing rapidly and all being well we shall be sailing a fortnight next Saturday. Have fixed everything at this end (with the exception of paying up!!), passport visaed for US and outfit in readiness. I would suggest that I go to Luton on Thursday 24th inst. so that we can check things up, ready for embarking on the 26th. Please say if you could meet me at Paddington at 3.40pm on the 24th inst. How do you propose to get to Tilbury Docks on the the 26th? Shall you be going by car? A special train will leave St Pancras Station for Tilbury Landing Stage at 9.20am but passengers proceeding independently to the Steamer must be in readiness to embark between 9.30am and 10.30am. I am asking to be seated at the same table as yourselves for meals on the boat, and shall be glad to hear which service you prefer, 1st or 2nd. Personally I should prefer the 1st service ie 12.30pm for lunch and 7pm for dinner. We were glad to get such a good report (from Edith) on Mary's progress towards perfect health, and trust she will speedily be "A.1. at Lloyds." Thanks for the books of views of Sydney and New Zealand you sent, do you wish me to return them? If so, will bring them along. Please reply early, Kindest regards, Sam.
