- Scope and ContentFather of J.F. Pain, Joseph Pain, was for more than 20 years prior to death in 1860 a tenant of H.D. Ward who was the owner of a cottage situate near the church & schools formerly called the Rector's old cottage, not let to Joseph Pain, but he received rent for it and accounted for it to executors of H.D. Ward and then to Miss. Charlotte Land, and J.F. Pain Did same to Michaelmas 1867. John Farrer, agent for Miss Charlotte Land, received rents for the cottage from 1867 - 1870
