Lease for 16 years, for a certain sum, rent per annum 5s: Roger Grendon of Barford, gentleman, and wife Margaret, and Kenverick Davies of Shefford and wife Alice, to George Francklin. Hyghomes or Hyghams close in Bolnhurst, with freedom to 'plasshe' [not destroying the quicks] all the hedges, and to stock and lay down all the bushes and to drain by sluice or through the meadow ground; also Highomes lane; also a piece of ground enclosed with a 'ded' hedge now occupied by William Whychurche, with free passage to it 'with spedie and convenyent dryfte of carte and cattell as often as neede and juste occasion shall require, so that it be not every dayes.'
