Letter from William Heard; great difficulty with Mrs. Butlin; an hour all to no purpose; bent on having the whole or appeal to trustees; at last agreed for £50; I did not like idea of her writing to trustees, so thought it best to make best terms I could. Looked at garden behind UnionHouse & also Saffron Gardens (Pondwick crossed out) through which railway is going; suggests terms.
