Freehold property: a) 2 cottages in Clophill formerly in occupation of Thomas Brooks and Mary Conquest then James Bedford and Mary Conquest and now of ----- and Thomas Parrell. South common street, North, West & East land late of Charles Dilly and now John Norton and James Bedford. b) 2 perches of ground lately fenced in from a close purchased of Charles Dilly by John Norton and laid to cottage of Mary Conquest. c) 2 acres, 3 rood, 22 perches in common meadow allotted to James Bedford in respect of a). North public drain No20, East allotment to James Bedford purchased of Rebecca Webb, part of South allotment to John Arnold, John Chipperfield & others, part of West and part of South allotment to John Morris purchased of James Burrows, part of West private road no. 8. d) 2 acres, 3 roods 34 perches added to c). North public drain no 20, East allotment to the rector of Clophill, South allotment to John Chipperfield, West allotment to James Bedford. e) 4acres 1 rood purchased by James Bedford of representatives of Mary Burridge. North East ancient inclosure and an allotment to the Countess de Grey exchanged to the said James Bedford, SW public drain No22, NW allotment to James Bedford. f) 2 roods 24 perches part of Countess de Grey and part of an ancient enclosure called Jacques pasture. Part NE by residue of ancient inclosure, part NE allotment to Countess de Grey, S and part SW by allotment to Countess de Grey, NW allotment to James Bedford. g) 3 roods 4 perches on Lammas Ground. NW allotment to Mary Burridge, NE old enclosure exchanged to Mary Burridge, East allotment Countess de Grey, South new river. All are laid together and added to a piece of copyhold land 1 acre 1 rood and 35 perches. Recites indenture of lease and release dated 19/20 February 1808 between 1) David Braithwaite esq, Rev Henry John Todd, clerk, John Oswald Trotter gent, 2) Richard Reynolds, 3) James Bedford, 4) Samuel Davis, 5) John Norton gent in consideration of £465. Other recitals include that Mary Coulson held conditional surrender on the copyhold land, will of Mary Coulson, death of one of executors. Consideration £1850 (£800 to 3), £450 to 1) for freehold, £600 to 1) for copyhold. Endorsed with receipts. Freehold as in CC193.
