Scope and Content
Richard Orlebar shall for 99 years permit the leaden pipe now laid in and through a part of the ground or close of his called Springe Close, Podington, from the spring pond in that ground, so far as it lies in the said close, to convey water from the said pond into the canals, rivers or moates of John Livesay belonging to the said mansion house of John Livesay in Hinwick; and John Livesay may open the ground when necessary for repair or renewal, and pay damages accordingly; and shall also pay 6 pennies per annum.
Richard Orlebar will also allow the 2 rows of trees on his land called Hall Leys in front of John Livesay’s house to stand; and if any die to be renewed.

Endorsement. Peter Saunders and John Haskins, gardener to Richard Orlebar, measured the diameter of General Livesay’s pipe, and found the pipe laid at the head to the first cock 1¾ inches diameter, the other part of the pipe 1 inch diameter.
