    From age 8 for 6 years Ploughboy to John Eames who occupied 3A of open field land of Houghton Regis.Left Eames but soon after marriage returned as ploughman, frequently employed by him up to his death which happened 20 + years ago. John Eames occupied considerable farm there just 6 years worked there - 3A were called Grandmother's land (that Mrs Eames mother of John Eames was then residing with him - died many years before. Inclosure of Houghton Regis (Note Bedfordshire Parish Registers) Tilsworth Marriages:- Daniel Eames labourer and Sarah Atkins, spinster both of Houghton Regis, 9 Apr 1727. Houghton Regis Baptisms:- John son of Daniel & Sarah Eames, labourer, 18 Oct 1730. Houghton Regis Marriages:- John Eames & Aley Partridge both of Houghton Regis and single,1 Dec 1763. Houghton Regis Baptisms:- William son of John & Aby Eames, baptised 23 Nov 1769, (his elder brother John was Baptised 29 May 1767 & was buried 3 Dec 1808 aged 41). Houghton Regis Burials Daniel Eames, farmer, 15 Nov 1772. Sarah Eames widow 22 Oct 1777, Aley Eames, widow age 72 ,10 Dec 1808 (NB baptised at Leighton Buzzard as Ellen daughter of William Partridge19 Nov 1736.) John Eames buried 27 July ?? aged 81(in will described as Yeoman) People underlined appear in affidavit ""Grandmother"" was dearly Sarah Eames (nee Atkins). On Mrs Eames death Jn continued to occupy Grandmother's land. Always understood it was his property (indeed all he owned; but before Inclosure purchased 3 cottages in Houghton Regis, now in occupance of William Jones, William Samuels & Widow Jones granted 5A at Inclosure pt in consideration of open field not sure under what right remainder granted. Occpied them until death - Cook.Occ employed on them - never heard of anyone else being entitled to them. On death of John to his son William (now lately deceased) took over the allotment which is in East Hill Field. Informed Edward French Esq. Purchased it after auction.
