I received yours of 22nd September a few days ago having been forwarded from ? Coburg, which latter place I left about a fortnight ago to ? find my fortune. You may not be aware that I have resolved to remain in Canada at least for some years. I think I will make Canada my home. I have accepted a situation here with Messrs. Cunningham and Way's office for a year. Have to learn French. Winter in Canada. Wished to farm, but no money in it. This is your 21st birthday - bet you are enjoying yourself. Regards to my uncle and aunt. [This is not deposited at the Record Office - for information only.)
