  • Scope and Content
I arrived at Eaton about 3 minutes before the coach came in, which there stayed to breakfast, and I took one large cup of coffee, ""(for the good of the House, as Dr. Allvey says)"". The company consisted of a Mr. Richards who came from Leeds with wife and little girl. He was a little like Burdon, and she like Mrs. Cooper of Pertenhall. At Biggleswade we took up a lady like Mrs. Twentyman who accompanied us as far as Barnet. Got to London, found a Hackney coach, and arrived and found Perry. Are going to call on the bishop of Cloyne and Perry's father. I foresee that I shall leave half my plans unexecuted, if I get Queeny a hat it will be all, and perhaps myself one, shoes, clothes etc. If I do it at all, will be work of supererogation, and more than I expect. List of people he's called on. [This is not deposited at the Record Office - for information only.)
