- Scope and Content14 Longbrook St., Exeter. Have arrived in Devonshire and taken lodgings near to the new London Inn. James will be looking out for a house. Visited Teignmouth. Scenery beautiful and living tolerably cheap. Walks about Exeter very romantic. Suppose you are very gay this winter going to balls etc. Anne and Fanny Grubbe were visiting in Wales most of the time during our stay in Norfolk Crescent. James and I dined with Mrs. Sutton, sister of Lord Sidmouth's. Saw Kenilworth and a representation of the Coronation at the theatre. Saw in Bath the panorama of Waterloo. Ann Milnes still at Pau. Dorothy [Milnes] and Mary [Charlotte Milnes] escaped a watery grave. Mary is much admired by a handsome man called Monsieur Le Barron de Villeneuve. Anne has been drawing all the Bordeaux costumes. What a nice girl Anne is. Is Mrs. Beaufort still at Eaton? [This is not deposited at the Record Office - for information only.)
