    recites:- 1642 Wallinger obtained a judgement for £800 against Richard Cokaine of Ashton, Northants., esq.; 1653 inquisition at Ampthill before John Huxley,sheriff: Cokaine was seized of the manor of Cockayne Hatley or Hatley Port, 40 acres pasture, 80 acres wood (value £49 pa.); messuage, 60 acres, land, 10 acres pasture, in occupation of Gilbert Mitchell (value £20 p.a.); 60 acres land & 80 acres pasture in Cockayne Hatley in occupation of Solomon Deere (value £70 p.a.); 200 acres land & 30 acres pasture in Cockayne Hatley, in occupation of William Derds (value £50 p.a.); 50 acres pasture in occupation of Richard Ebbs (value £30 p.a.); 20 acres pasture in occupation of Nicholas Cullick (value £14 p.a.); 10 acres pasture in occupation of William Colle (value £6 p.a.); 60 acres land in occupation of Richard Lillie (value £7 pa.); 40 acres pasture in occupation of Thomas Sheffield (value £20 p.a.); sheriff caused 320 acres land & 120 acres pasture (tenants Dere, Derds, Colle & Lillie) to be delivered to Wallinger until debt paid; witnesses Oliver Cokayn, Margaret. Godwin, Jonathan Waller, William Abbiss; 28 Nov. 1653 endorsed with record of entry by Gilbert Mitchell of Cockayne Hatley, yeoman, as attorney for Wallinger. 22 Sept. 1655
