    keep body 1 whole week before internment to be inclosed in Coffin made of Heart of Oak in plain & neat manner in the Family Repository which I have caused to me made for that purpose in the Meeting House Yard at Luton. Son Daniel :- close of pasture ground called Cains Close alias Bottles Close in Sam's own occupance. AND 2 closes of pasture lying together in occupance of George being heretofore pt of Common Field in Luton called ""Newlands"" (purchased by Sam of Mary Sherlock & Thomas Butcher & others. AND to son John: Messuage or tenement wherein William Higgs now inhabits at upper end of Castle St. Luton with yards, barns, stables & buildings adj. AND 3 closes of pasture & piece of garden ground near to or adj said Messuage after pt of which purchased of William Okey & the remaining pt (being further close next Bailey Field & Lately inclosed by Samuel (purchased) of Rev Thomas Whitehurst heretofore pt of farm are devised & now occupied by Thomas Crawley now in Sam Chase's own possession. Subj to payment of £400 to count as residue to be paid to executors to 3 grand children: Samuel, Elizabeth, Harriet (3 children of late son Samuel Chase) : 3 closes of pasture in Luton now in occupance of himself & Mr. Ben Harrison (heretofore pt of Bridge Field, but for many years been separated from them by quick fences set & planted by Samuel Chase) to son John as Trustee for sale, proceeds to act as if personal estate. Copyhold messuage or tenament with Blacksmith's Shop, buildings, ground etc., at Wandon End, Kings Walden, Herts (receipt of John to be good & sufficient discharge for purchaser) To son Daniel & John Chase & daughter Elizabeth Goldsmith (widow of William Esq deceased), Sarah Sibley of Chiltern Green (wife of Thomas, Gent) & Frances Barker (wife of Robert of Walton, Surrey, Esq) as Tenants in common. To son Daniel £100 & Testator's share of debts, stock & personal property held jointly with Daniel by virtue of partnership acct in & about Birmingham to daughter Elizabeth Goldsmith £200, to daughter Sarah Sibley £130, to brother Daniel Chase of Wellingborough, Northants, Gent £50 for mourning, to Rev Thomas Pilley of Luton £20, to Mrs Mary Mason, widow, who now resides with Testator, if living with him at the time of his decease £50. 3 grandchildren Samuel, Elizabeth & Harriet Chase £600 to be paid out of personal estate, to be shared when 21 when pd above & above £400 to John residue to be divided into 6. 2 sons 3 daughters, 1 share each, 3 grandchildren above the last share when 21, sums for grandchildren to be placed out on Mortgage or invested in public stocks or funds in joint names, interest or dividends to be applied for maintenance, education & apprenticeship of grandchildren, if die under 21 reversion to survivors, appts sons Daniel & John Chase, sons in law Robert Barker & Thomas Sibley, daughter Elizabeth Goldsmith (sic) & Leonara Neale of Luton, Spinster.
