Grocer & Ruth his wife (late Ruth Marsom, daughter of Nathan Marsom of Luton, Tallow Chandler by Sarah, his late wife deceased, whose maiden name was Sarah Goldsmith) (purchaser) 3) Hugh Smith of Borough of St Albans, Grocer said Nathan Marsom (Trustees recites: Articles of Agreement pt of Marriage Settlement 1) Hugh Smith 2) Ewer Smith (marrying party) 3) Nathan Marsom & Ruth Marsom (his daughter by Sarah nee Goldsmith, his late wife) (marrying party) recites Will of Joseph Goldsmith of Parish of St Andrew, Hubbard (sic) & Citizen & Cooper of London incl to Executors Samuel Hawkins, Jermiah Okey £1,200 in trust to pay amongst all the children then living of sister Sarah Marsom as soon as 21 or Day of Marriage (reversion to Survivors) Made 17 Sept 1726, date of probate not given.Sarah Marsom had 4 children - 2 Dead - Sarah & Nathan the younger only surviving, Sarah entitled to £600 on Marriage agreed £300 of this £600 & £425 laid out by Ewer Smith should be used to purchase freehold lands to form Marriage Settlement 23 Jan 1734 [1735] parties now married [Luton Register 30 Jan 1734 [1735].
